There's no two ways about it: Battlefield 6 is a smash hit.
According to Circana's October sales data for the USA, EA's first-person shooter has knocked it out of the park, already becoming the biggest game in the franchise's history and 2025's best selling game to date.
As always, this stems from Circana's Mat Piscatella, posting his usual monthly breakdown of video game sales.
The above thread reveals that Battlefield 6 topped the October charts in basically every way it could. It's the best-selling game of the month (and 2025 as a whole) in dollar sales, and the top-selling game for October on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms.
Some other interesting statistics: Battlefield 6 produced the highest one-month total dollar sales in the USA in three years.
Its October sales were enough to make it the best-selling game in the franchise. Its sales for the month outdid the lifetime sales of the previous best seller, Battlefield 1.
It'll be interesting to see how things stack up with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 when November's numbers roll around.
In other news, Ghost of Yotei was October's third best seller overall and the 10 best selling game of the year so far.
Other additions to the monthly top 20 are The Outer Worlds 2 (seventh), Little Nightmares 3 (eighth), and Ninja Gaiden 4 (11th).

Well deserved it is too ! The best multiplayer experience around right now. And unbelievably polished to perfection
Dare I say it but could BF6 beat CoD this year?
Now we need to get people to stop buying Pokemon games. Though that might be a harder challenge than weaning people off CoD.
Been having a blast, already got 80 hours on it since launch!
I want the mini bird, but luckily that's been confirmed to be coming 🤩
Video game hardware spending in October grew 36% when compared a year ago, to $351M. Switch 2 was again able to offset declines across Switch (-52% versus a year ago), Xbox Series (-37%) and PlayStation 5 (-22%). Nintendo Switch 2 sold 328k units in October. It is 68% ahead of the sales pace set by the original Nintendo Switch and is 3% ahead of PlayStation 4’s previous record velocity. October spending on ASUS PC Portable hardware devices increased by 4.8x compared to a year ago and is now 30% higher year-to-date.
Switch 2 is doing incredibly well!
BF6 outsells CoD this year then, and it’s not even close - it’s a massacre. USA is the one market CoD had a chance.
@SeaDaVie CoD just launched we don't know how well its done yet. I expect very well as always.
@AdamNovice I think it would be good for the industry if it did. And I think its deserving too as a game. Not just saying this. Its highly unlikely knowing activision, but maybe it will make COD take a look in the mirror and give us a better product and more importantly, go back to a serious military style shooter. None of this Beavis and Butthead skins and all the sci fi wall running crap. WW2 theme got old, but honestly, I'd welcome it back if that's what it took to get this thing grounded again
That’s some seriously impressive numbers and they can add one more to that when I get round to buying it lol.
Looking forward to next year to see how much gta6 dwarfs this.
@DennisReynolds Battlefield 6 launch month in the USA was better than CoD: BO6 last year. This year will almost certainly be nowhere close to BO6, so I can't conceive of a way it even gets close to BF6.
@SeaDaVie and yet BO7 will still outsell BF6. People really need to stop competing these games as BF will never beat it.
Good for BF6. Also, great for GoY- to be the 10th best selling game all year on just 1 platform is impressive
@DennisReynolds So BO7 is going to outsell BO6 even though it was 50% down or something in the UK and like 100% down on steam? I'm not following the logic. It appears almost 100% that BF6 sales, at least worldwide and it appears even in the USA, will be ahead of BO7.
@DennisReynolds early sales reports haven’t been great
@SeaDaVie UK sales mean jack as they don't account for digital. I would love for BF6 to beat COD but BO7 will most likely be the best selling game of 2025 like almost always.
Nice to see NG 4 in PS top 10 software sales. I guess the sales isn't as bad as i thought.
